Its funny to watch how things change as time rolls on by. As I look back on the last10 years of our little mountain bike group of misfits and realize how much has changed it really is mind boggling to think where all of us are today. Sitting in the chair at the restaurant and watching two of my long time mountain bike buds play with their kids as I hold my soon to be one year old daughter it is pretty damn cool to realize we have created the next generation of pedalers.
I think back at all the amazing rides and times we have spent together on our bikes its a fine day when the bikes are put away and we are just hanging out with our kids talking about riding, shitty diapers and life in general. It seems that one day I was out on a pounder of a ride with Moron, DD, WyldWilly, Danno, Buddy, RacerRuss, Freedog and whomever else decided to come along for the abuse or hanging out at the Hick park with C-los, Steve-o, DD, Harvey and my lil bitch Necker to pulling my kid around in a tag along cart behind my bike on the streets of LasVegas!

I catch myself often wondering what life has thrown at all my old riding buds? I still keep in touch with alot of you smelly bastards but we have all scattered across the country to every corner it seems. I still remember the crazy Weekend at Wilson camp outs and the great park rides we used to have where at times there were thirty riders at that place. Though I seem to be on the twist throttle two wheelers alot more these days I hope to one day be back in Wilson creek pedaling with the old crew and having a good time.
To here all the chatter and talking as eveyone comes up to the rest spot in between Greentown and Raiders camp to all the yahoos and smiles after railing Sinkhole at the end of the day. I can’t wait to tell Zoe about the great rides, pranks and after-ride dinners that seemed to be the icing on a great epic pedal. So heres to all of you sorry SOB’s that shared the woods and trails with me on a regular basis. Though I still enjoy riding its not the same without the crew right there >>>behind<<< me hahaha! Aint it funny how life changes?
Cheers BBA

Today’s ride on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2009! Once the drop-off points for the various trails was established…the ride would start at Raspberry Ridge in Gingercake Acres. We had TEN people on the ride!!! What a great group to ride with….one of the good ole good-ones for sure!!! The riders were John Spencer (brother Jeff would join at Greentown Plunge with Callie)…Byron McKenzie (basher), Phillip Fracaro, Peter Henderson, Justin Studt, Barry Brittain, Jeff Moore, Stanley Moore, Tim Kenan (i think that was you last name???), and myself. The “group” at the sinkhole saddle….getting ready to climb up to sinkhole….great group! This was a ride that was definitely NOT to-be-missed!!!!

First of all, the trails were in fantastic shape….very few trees down on Raspberry Ridge, or Greentown….well, the one that would make a nice option???? Everyone was pumped at the prospect of gaining much air, smoothing out some nice singletrack, and hold on! Raspberry was pretty dry, but also a little damp from the early morning dew….we started around 9:30 a.m. The trail was fast and tacky! Perfect conditons! We had several new riders on this group of rides. Props! to Peter Henderson, Barry Brittain, and Tim Kenan. New to Sinkhole and Goat trails were Justin Studt, and Tim Kenan, and Barry Brittain. It was a very fun group…
Here are the photos….
This ride ended none-to-soon! We were all pooped. Thanks everyone for helping shuttle, providing food, water, rides for all! That’s exactly what a weekend-at-Wilson’s should be and more! Everyone helping everyone ride better, and feel good about cleaned jumps, tech sections, drops, roots, rocks, flying objects from other bikes or riders!!! The post-ride dinner at Pancho Villa proved GREAT as usual. Can you say Shrimp or Fish tacos? Pelusa Texana? Cane Asada??? All good, man those beers really hit the spot. I hope that each person had the same amount of “good-times” as myself!!! Thanks All!!!

p.s. Basher and I will be riding Hibriten Mountain Tuesday evening about 6:30pm!!!! Be There!!!

Well, the past few weeks have been a bit crazy. The past nine months of anticipation have now turned into a reality. A peeing, pooping, crying reality. I’m not complaining though. Being a dad is an awesome feeling. Those of you that are already dad’s know what I’m talking about. Here’s a pic of the little guy. He was born July 24th and was 8lbs.
